FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Will SP Wilmad-LabGlass sign my NDA?
Customer confidentiality is our #1 priority at SP Wilmad-LabGlass. Should you have your own NDA, it will be reviewed by our team to make sure it best protects you and us. If you do not have an NDA, we can provide you with an easy to use template. Contact our customer service professionals for more information.
Q. Why do you not state O.D. sizes of tubing?
With years of experience, we are able to change the Outer Diameter of tubing to fit your needs. Through processes like lamination, we can add to the wall size of the tubing or reduce it to fit your specifications. If the O.D. is critical tolerances can be as tight as 0.00025″.
Q. Do I need a drawing to get a quote for my custom glass?
No. While a drawing will help our team of glass experts to move your project along quickly it is not necessary. We can help with the final design and drawings of your products to make sure that your product is manufactured to your specifications.
Q. Do you make raw glass?
Most southern New Jersey glass manufacturers no longer make raw glass, but the traditions and art of forming, blowing, and grinding precision glass is still alive and well throughout the area. SP Wilmad-LabGlass works with Borosilicate glass tubing that can be shaped and blown to your specifications.
While we may not pour raw glass anymore, the glass is still plenty hot in our facility.
Q. I am looking to make changes to an existing part, can you help?
Absolutely! With over 75 years of glass manufacturing experience, our glass experts have seen it all and will gladly work on making changes to an existing part.
Q. What is the benefit of having my part made out of glass instead of plastic?
Over the years many advances have been made in plastics making them a good choice for some components. However, glass is still a primary choice for almost every application especially those that:
- Need a high level of precision
- Require optical clarity
- Are used in harsh applications
Glass can also be cleaned of many chemicals adding years of life to the product and making it an environmentally friendly choice.
